Well, it sure looks like The Fresh Market ... here’s what we know about a Bluffton location right now
Awnings in the same color and similar design as those at various The Fresh Market locations across the country have gone up at a Bluffton shopping center in recent weeks, but The Fresh Market officials continue to offer little information on whether a store is coming to the area.
The Fresh Market was announced last year as one of the stores that would go into the new shopping center at U.S. 278 and Burnt Church Road by developer Tom Thompson, a partner with Jaz Management LLC.
Other stores such as Hobby Lobby, PGA Tour Superstore, Sleep Number and Aspen Dental also were announced by the developer and all have since opened.
Yet, The Fresh Market continues to use the same response when questioned about if and when it will open.
“In order to provide more flexibility in developing the company’s long-term growth strategy, The Fresh Market has re-evaluated the timing of its new store opening announcements,” Randy Young, a spokesperson for the story, wrote in an email Friday. “The Fresh Market is continuously reviewing its investment priorities, which often results in shifting opening dates. As such, the company does not plan on projecting or speculating on specific store opening timing prior to construction start.”
This is the exact response word for word that The Fresh Market gave The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette in September of last year.
Thompson previously said The Fresh Market would occupy a 20,000 square foot space at the Bluffton shopping center.
The Fresh Market already has one location in Beaufort County at 890 William Hilton Parkway on Hilton Head Island.
