For Hobby Lobby enthusiasts, the wait in Bluffton is over
Hobby Lobby fans got a nice surprise Friday when the Bluffton store had a “soft opening” two days before it was to officially open Monday.
A small yard sign announced that the 55,000 square foot store was open as cars pulled into the new shopping center at the intersection of U.S. 278 and Burnt Church Road.
Other businesses, such as PGA Tour Superstore, Sleep Number mattress store and Aspen Dental office, have opened in the past year at the shopping center.
Hobby Lobby officials previously said the store would bring 35 to 50 jobs to the area. It said full-time employees will be paid $15.70 per hour and part-time workers $10.45 per hour.
A grand opening for the store is set at 9 a.m. Monday and will include a ribbon cutting and refreshments.
Signs on the store’s windows said it will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
