Hilton Head businesses team up to release new local brew

Coastal Restaurants and Bars (CRAB) has partnered with Hilton Head Brewing Company to create a new beer for Hilton Head Island, CRAB marketing official Abby Wirth said Wednesday.

Crab Pilsner is a light lager.

“It is a super easily drinkable summer beer,” Wirth said.

The beer has been rolled out at all of CRAB’s locations in the past two weeks, she said. This includes Reilley’s Grill & Bar, Carolina Crab Company, Fish Camp in Broad Creek, The Board Room, Aunt Chilada’s and The Crazy Crab.

The beer also will be available at other locations on the island but will be considered CRAB’s signature beer, Wirth said.

The idea for the brew came from one of CRAB’s owners, who approached the brewery about creating the beer and gave them a basic outline of the type of beer they would like.

“We then let the brewers take over from there,” Wirth said.
