Here are ways local businesses are giving back (and some deals in exchange for your help)

For many, the holiday season is a time for giving back, and this is no exception in the local business scene.

Businesses around Beaufort County are making efforts to donate money and services, collect gifts and even let customers have the opportunity to give back for the holidays.

Here are a few ways some local stores, restaurants and businesses are making a difference.

If your local business is giving back for the holidays, email your press release with the details to retail reporter Madison Hogan at mhogan@islandpacket.com for inclusion on this list. If you know of a business giving back, include the details in the comments below.

▪  Epperson Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning: This is the company’s fourth year collecting toys for Toys For Tots. Get a 30 percent discount on a furnace tune-up in exchange for donating a new, unwrapped toy.

▪  Pinnacle Plastic Surgery: Customers can participate in in Blankets for Botox by donating a new blanket, pet toy, pet food or pet store gift card at Pinnacle Plastic Surgery in December and receive a gift certificate for $50 off their next Botox or injectable treatment. All of the donated supplies will go to Palmetto Animal League, a private, nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue organization in Okatie, which will share the supplies with other local shelters in need. To kick off the campaign, Pinnacle Plastic Surgery, at 7 Mallett Way in Bluffton, will have a holiday party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at which guests can bring pet supplies. Refreshments, champagne and door prizes will be provided.

▪  Tanger Outlets Hilton Head: Tanger Outlets Hilton Head has donated $500 each to the Bluffton Township Fire District, Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services Unit and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 8. Those on hand for the Tanger holiday check presentation ceremonies included Bluffton Township Fire Chief John Thompson and Captain Randy Hunter, Deputy Director Howell Youmans with Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services and Lieutenant Jason Covington, Staff Sergeant Eric Calendine and Lance Corporal Ryan Chin of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
