Customers are a little early for ‘Bo Time,’ but this is when the Bluffton Bojangles’ will open

Many people have been walking into or trying to use the drive-thru at the new Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ’n Biscuits at 8230 Pinellas Drive off Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton, according to the franchisee and president of Jay Foods LLC, J.K. Jay.

“We’ve had a bunch of people coming in who want to eat,” he said.

However, the restaurant isn’t ready to serve just yet.

Jay said the Bojangles’ would open its door at 5 a.m. Nov. 28, just a few months after the groundbreaking ceremony for the restaurant in July.

“Especially because we had delays, unfortunately, ... we look forward to celebrating with some great, made-from-scratch, hand-made biscuits and a cup of Cheerwine,” he said.

This will be the second Bojangles’ franchise for the Jay family after it acquired the Beaufort Bojangles’ on Robert Smalls Parkway in 2015, Jay said.

For the grand opening, there will be a number of giveaways to celebrate.

Jay said coffee will be served to customers waiting outside in line before the opening. The first person in line will get a $100 gift card, along with a Bo Box giveaway, and the first 100 customers will be entered into a drawing to win free breakfast for a year.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bojangles’ will give away a free 22-ounce iced tea with any purchase; from 2 to 5 p.m., there’s a free kids meal with any purchase; and from 5 to 8 p.m., customers will receive a coupon for a free ham, steak or sausage biscuit with any purchase, he said.

In preparation for the opening, Jay said, visitors will receive a free sausage biscuit and sweet tea at the drive-thru from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 26 while supplies last.
