Hilton Head Island, meet Martha’s Vineyard ... her clothing, anyway

Tanger Outlets Hilton Head is getting a visitor from another islander: Vineyard Vines Outlet.

The Martha’s Vineyard clothing line will open its doors Oct. 7 in Tanger 1 between Worth New York and Nine West Outlet, according to Ashely Doepp, general manager at Tanger Outlets Hilton Head.

If you’re a fan of Simply Southern, Vineyard Vines is like its preppy Northern millennial cousin. Expect colorful bow ties, dockers, bright colors and simple patterns.

The brand started to become popular among the high school crowd in recent years. You might have seen the logo — a smiling pink whale — on a baseball cap or among the car decals your teenager has collected.

But Vineyard Vines isn’t the only visitor from the North coming to the outlets; The North Face will open the same day as Vineyard Vines Outlet in Tanger 2, and other stores are on the way.
