Florida beach fans can once again get a direct flight from Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport starting this fall. On Tuesday, Allegiant Airlines announced three new non-stop trips to Punta Gorda/Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale/ Miami and St. Pete/ Tampa. The routes will officially launch in mid-November, but travelers itching for a weekend on a Florida beach can buy their tickets now.

This will be the first time since last spring that residents can fly directly to Florida, after Silver Airways discontinued their service from Savannah-Hilton Head International to Fort Lauderdale and Tampa.

During most weeks there will be two flights to each of the three locations. Flights to Punta Gorda/ Fort Myers depart mostly on Thursdays and Sundays, while flights to Fort Lauderdale/ Miami and to St. Pete/ Tampa mostly depart on Fridays and Mondays. Travelers may chose from one of three different price points: “basic”, which includes one personal item, “bonus”, which includes a carry-on and the ability to change flight plans and “total”, which includes a checked bag and priority access. For a trip to each of the three destinations, travelers can expect to pay between $100 and $260 per round trip ticket, depending on their bundle selection.

According Lori Lynah, the Director of Marketing and Air Service Development at Savannah-Hilton Head International, expanding direct service routes into Savannah is also significant, since it will contribute to the region’s economic health. This collaboration, she said, “marks a significant opportunity to deepen our reach and offerings within the state.”
