Selena Nelson was fired from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office after she failed a polygraph test about an incident that occurred in a local business where she allegedly used profanity and raised her voice at the store clerk while in uniform. Prior to the polygraph, she debates with the examiner whether or not she ever said the curse word in question.
MCAS Beaufort started a Facebook Live early Friday morning with no explanation. The video showed what appeared to be an airplane up in flames. Officials later confirmed the "plane" was just a model and the marines were conducting a regular training exercise.
Dozens of law enforcement from York County and Charlotte escort the body of Det. Mike Doty of the York County Sheriff's Office Thursday to Piedmont Medical Center. Doty died Wednesday from injuries sustained after a domestic violence suspect opened fire Tuesday on York County deputies and a York police officer.

A Bluffton High School teacher was surprised with the Milken Educator Award during an assembly at the school Thursday morning. Erin Reichert is the only winner from South Carolina and one of 44 winners total. The award comes with a $25,000 check.
Charmaine Anthony Warthern was struck by a vehicle and killed while walking along Buckwalter Parkway on Tuesday night. The woman who hit him, and left the scene before reporting the accident, says he was walking in the road, according to Bluffton police. However, Warthern's roomate, who was walking with him at the time of the accident, is reported to have said he was on the bike path when he was hit. The incident remains under investigation.
