Celebrity chefs to visit Savannah as part of new food fest

In case you haven't heard, the Taste of Savannah event is being expanded into the Savannah Food & Wine Festival with a whole host of events Nov. 11-17. As part of that, the festival will be hosting the  Celebrity Chef Tour Nov. 13.

The tour brings together several James Beard Award-winning chefs for a collaborative dinner. So far, Hugh Acheson, Chris Hastings and Steven Satterfield are confirmed to take part. Acheson is of particular note, as he is planning opening an Italian restaurant in Savannah.

Monday, November 11 through Sunday, November 17, 2013 – “Savannah’s Connoisseur Wine Dinners”



Wednesday, November 13, 2013 – “Celebrity Chef Tour” 6:30 p.m., benefiting the James Beard Foundation and the Savannah Food & Wine Festival”, 700 Drayton at The Mansion on Forsyth Park.



Thursday, November 14 – “The Grand Reserve Tasting & Silent Auction” with special guest winemakers, including Rob Mondavi, Jr. and Joe Shirley (5:30 – 7:30 p.m.), location To Be Announced.



Friday, November 15 – “River Street Wine Stroll” (5:30 – 7:30 p.m.)



Saturday, November 16 – “Taste of Savannah”, Ellis Square (12 – 4 p.m.)



Saturday, November 16 – “Michael Mondavi Family Estate Tribute Dinner” 8 p.m., The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort & Spa



Sunday, November 17 – “Jazz & Bubbles Brunch” (12 - 3 p.m.), The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort & Spa
