HelloFresh Just Added an AI Tool That Simplifies Trending Recipes for Home Cooks
Are you the type of person who saves countless cooking TikTok videos and Instagram Reels in the hopes of making them at home one day? Now think honestly: how often are you actually making those recipes?
For most home cooks, the issue isn't the lack of enthusiasm or willingness to try new things, but rather the lift involved in watching the video, figuring out the ingredient list, then following along with all of the steps. Sure, you can watch the same video countless times while making the meal, but unless the creator put everything in the caption, it's a less-than-ideal process. HelloFresh, which consumers know best as a meal kit delivery system, has just added an AI tool to its app that aims to simplify that process.

The Cookbook feature, which is built into the HelloFresh app and is free for all users, not just subscribers, uses AI to turn any video from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or external websites into structured recipes. It then gives an organized ingredient list and step-by-step instructions in the HelloFresh style, allowing users to turn those inspirational videos into easy-to-follow recipes. It also takes things one step further, turning photos of recipe cards, magazine clippings, and family notebooks into the same format.
HelloFresh is also flipping things around, allowing creators to make their own profile pages where they can publish original recipes on the app. From there, those recipes could appear on the HelloFresh Discover feed, where users will see recipes that are in line with their individual preferences.
