What’s brewing at Port Royal’s Corner Perk? Meet Coast Roast Coffee
Regulars at the Paris Avenue coffee shop in Port Royal may have noticed a change in recent days as the former Corner Perk location has transitioned to a new name and brand: Coast Roast Coffee.
The new owners introduced themselves on social media in recent days, announcing their new name, logo and menu, while Corner Perk’s locations no longer list Port Royal online. On Saturday, new light blue signage had been attached to the café’s white exterior.
Camie Messick, one of the new owners, confirmed with the newspaper that they took over at the end of August and have been slowly transitioning to make the coffee shop their own.
The café and coffee roaster still maintains its locations in Bluffton and on Hilton Head Island. A location near the intersection of Buckwalter and Bluffton Parkways is “coming soon,” according to Corner Perk’s website. Attempts to reach Corner Perk on Saturday were unsuccessful prior to publication.
The one-story cottage in Port Royal has been the site of several coffee shops over the years. Corner Perk opened there in 2019, replacing Pluff Mudd Coffee Co., which opened in 2016.
Coast Roast Coffee is open every day from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., serving specialty coffees and lattes with house-made syrup, breakfast burritos, wraps and salads.
