After what seemed like an eternity to a legion of faithful followers, Beaufort welcomed its first Cook Out restaurant - taking over the Boundary St. location that once housed a Burger King. Cook Out is known for their char-grilled burgers and thick milkshakes available in more than 30 flavors.

This opening marks the 46th Cook Out in the Palmetto State with five more scheduled to open in the coming months.

Signs back in mid-February indicated that Cook Out would be opening in March. But according to manager Heather Brennan, things moved up and they were able to push the opening to Feb 26, the last Monday of the month.

She stated that the expeditious opening will not affect anything. “Everything will be the same.”
