Where’s the best fried chicken in Beaufort County? We want to know your favorites

The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette

From a Sunday dinner after church to a casual picnic or tailgating before the big game, fried chicken is the ultimate crowd-pleaser, especially in the South.

And everyone seems to have a style they like best. Is it spicy or subtle? Battered or breaded? Piping hot out of the frying pan or leftovers straight out of the fridge?

Several Beaufort County restaurants and stores are known for their scrumptious fried chicken.

We want to know what our readers think. Which Beaufort County restaurant or business — food trucks are included — serves the best traditional fried chicken?

Right now, we are simply asking for nominations. The top 16 nominations will then be winnowed to eight competitors, then four and then two in a series of polls.

The final two will go head-to-head (or leg to leg?) in the last round to determine the winner. Please note the only prize is bragging rights. And let’s face it, the real winners here are those of us who learn about new places to find our favorite meal.

Fill in the form below before Sunday, Sept. 18, at 11:59 p.m. and watch islandpacket.com next week for the announcement of the top 16 so you can vote for your favorite.
