Cinnabon is bringing its world-famous sweets to Bluffton. Here’s what we know

Anyone who’s been to a shopping mall knows the familiar smell of warm brown sugar and cinnamon wafting from the food court.

Soon that scent will be swirling through Bluffton.

Cinnabon, which used to have bakeries only in places such as malls and airports, began expanding its operations in recent years, and the new Lowcountry location is part of that effort.

The franchise known for its world-famous cinnamon buns and other sweets will be opening in Bluffton this spring, Cinnabon spokesperson Shawn Jackson confirmed in an email.

Instead of a brick-and-mortar storefront, the company is opening a food truck that’ll be mobile in Bluffton. Of the 17 locations in South Carolina, this is the first not fixed to a mall, airport or gas station.

In addition to the classic roll with cream cheese frosting, Cinnabon’s menu features different takes on cinnamon rolls, other sweets like churros, and an array of beverages, including sweet coffees and lemonades.

More details on the food truck and an exact opening date are to come, Jackson said.
