Hungry for farm-fresh and made-from-scratch food? You’ll soon have a Bluffton option
Avocado Bleu will open in April next to Buffalo Wild Wings in Kittie’s Crossing.
The Bluffton restaurant will offer grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options along with a few hot menu items daily.
Owner Teresa Brandow has worked as a pastry chef in the region for many years, most recently at Belfair Plantation.
“Everything will be made from scratch,” Brandow said Thursday. “I really enjoy cooking with fresh veggies and good meat.”
Relationships have already been built with farmers for fresh and local vegetables, Brandow said. She said grass fed beef and free-range chicken meat also will be used.
In order to work with the freshest ingredients, there will be no set menu, Brandow said. The restaurant will offer paleo, keto, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.
The type of meals include an egg scramble with turkey sausage and thick-cut applewood smoked bacon. A sweet potato hash recipe calls for a topping of walnuts and blueberries.
For those with a sweet tooth, there will be pastry options such as muffins and chia flax banana bread.
Brandow said the restaurant also will offer bulk purchase options for pick-up along with catering.
The plan is to expand to a dinner options after the restaurant is open, Brandow said.
