These are the best restaurants on Hilton Head according to AAA

Old Fort Pub on Hilton Head Island is the only restaurant to receive a Four Diamond Award from the AAA (Triple A) in Beaufort County for 2018.

The pub, at 63 Skull Creek Drive, received a 4.4 rating on food, a 4 for service and 4.3 for decor on a scale of 1 to 5 from the AAA.

“Sea Island bouillabaisse, wild Atlantic shrimp over lobster risotto cake and rack of lamb represent the contemporary, perfectly prepared creations,” the AAA inspector notes say. “Sinful homemade desserts, such as chocolate pecan pie, end a perfect evening.”

It says 2.1 percent of more than 31,000 restaurants inspected by the organization receive a four diamond rating.

Eleven restaurants in the state of South Carolina received four diamonds. Seven of those restaurants are in Charleston. Other locations include Kiawah Island, Latta and Mount Pleasant.

▪  Ombra Cucina Rustica

▪  Red Fish Restaurant

▪  Ruan Thai Cuisine

▪  Sage Room

▪  Sante Fe Cafe

▪  The Studio

▪  Wise Guys

McCrady’s in Charleston is the only restaurant in South Carolina to receive a Five Diamond Award (the highest) from AAA in 2018.

No restaurants in Savannah received a four or five diamond rating.
