BuzzFeed: These 2 sandwiches — close to Beaufort County —‘worth traveling the world for’

Beaufort County folks: you’re just a quick trip up or down U.S. Highway 17 from some world-traveler-worthy food.

According to a recent BuzzFeed’s list — “34 Meals That Are Actually Worth Traveling The World For” — two area sandwiches are worth a long trip.

A sandwich from Zunzi’s — a Savannah eatery that’s a swirl of Swiss, Italian, South African and Dutch cuisine — ranks 22nd on the list.

And coming in at No. 24 is the Scallop Po’ Boy from 167 Raw in Charleston.

There were seven U.S. restaurants represented, three of which are in the South (hot chicken from Hattie B’s in Nashville, Tenn., was ranked No. 10).
