May River Theatre presents
“Smoke on the Mountain”
Join the members of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for a night of great music when the May River Theatre presents “Smoke on the Mountain.”
The musical comedy — where the audience serves as the congregation — centers around the Sanders family’s night church and the singing of traditional and bluegrass gospel songs. The Off-Broadway show, set in the simpler times of the 1930s, was first performed in 1990 and was revived in 1998. The play is one of the most produced worldwide.
The show opens at 8 p.m. Friday, with eight performances following.
THURSDAY
