It’s prime sunset season: 9 spectacular sunset spots around Hilton Head/ Bluffton

Believe it or not, we are in prime sunset season here on the east coast, according to scientists.

If you don’t mind watching sunsets in the cooler, brisk air in the early hours of the evening, winter and fall are the the best times of the year for sunsets with the brightest colors and the most radiant skies, according to NOAA meteorologist Stephen F. Corfidi.

While the ingredients of a good sunset are up for debate, this is the time of the year when the sky has less pollution, the sun is at the perfect angle, the clouds hang higher, and the brilliant colors of the sky shine a little brighter according to meteorologist Matt Daniel of EarthSky.com.
