Lucas: Pianist Gabe Dixon to perform in Bluffton
Pianist Gabe Dixon will perform at The Roasting Room Lounge and Listening Room this weekend.
Dixon will peform songs from his upcoming album “Turns to Gold” at 8 p.m. Friday, at the venue over top Corner Perk on the corner of Calhoun and Promenade streets.
Dixon as performed as both a band leader and solo artist since forming the Gabe Dixon Band in 1998.
The group’s major label debut “On A Rolling Ball” was released in 2002 on Reprise Records.
Three years later, they released their Live at World Cafe EP featuring the song “All Will Be Well,” which was used in promos for the NBC show Conviction.
In addition, Dixon played keyboards and sang backing vocals on Paul McCartney’s 2001 album, “Driving Rain” and performed live with McCartney at the Concert For New York City, a September 11 fundraiser.
Solo artist Payne Bridges, of Savannah, will open.
Tickets are $17 and are limited.
Doors open at 7 p.m.; the show will start at 8 p.m.
