Grab your lawn chairs — and dogs — May River Shrimp Festival this week

The May River Shrimp Festival, part of the Bluffton Sunset Party Series, will be from 5 to 9 p.m. July 14 and 4 to 9 p.m. July 15 at Bluffton Oyster Factory Park in Old Town Bluffton.

Entertainers scheduled to perform include Executrix (5-7 p.m.) and The Chiggers (7-9 p.m.) on July 14 and Souls Harbour ( 4:30-6:30 p.m.) and The Horan Brothers Band (6:45-9 p.m.) on July 15.

“This year’s festival will begin Thursday with the arts fair where local artists will be showcasing and selling their artwork to the public. It’s also ladies night, featuring bands with female lead singers and two-for-one admission for the ladies. Friday will continue with the arts fair, a kids zone, craft beer (and) pie-eating contest.”

Bluffton Sunset Parties are family — and dog — friendly. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. No outside food or drink is allowed in the event.

Tickets are $5 at the door; children 12 and younger are free.
