Hilton Head Jazz Camp to show off musical chops with finale concert

Hilton Head Jazz Camp will hold a finale concert at 2 p.m. July 16 at the Seahawk Cultural Center at Hilton Head Island High School, 70 Wilborn Road on Hilton Head Island.

More than 70 students from across the Southeast are taking part in the camp, which began July 11 and is sponsored by The Junior Jazz Foundation. Led by camp director James Berry, the camp is an immersion in jazz and features faculty including Nicki Parrott, Kevin Bales, Ricardo Ochoa and Juan Rollan.

The concert will be a mixed performance from the camp’s big bands, combos, vocal jazz ensemble and new jazz strings program.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. All proceeds support the scholarship fund and education initiatives of The Junior Jazz Foundation.
