Coastal Cultures Conference coming to St. Helena Island Saturday

The 4th annual Coastal Cultures Conference is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 30 at the St. Helena Branch Library, 6355 Jonathan Francis Senior Road, St. Helena Island.

Sponsored by a number of area Gullah-Geechee organizations and partnering with the Medical University of South Carolina, the conference explores health and wellness as well as seafood safety.

An after-party is at 7 p.m. at MJ’s Soul Food, at 1634 Sea Island Parkway, St. Helena Island.

Registration is free but required before the event.
