Jasper County history event will cover Santa Elena, Penn Center
A seminar Thusday in Jasper County will cover Lowcountry history, including Santa Elena and the Penn School.
The event starts at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Jasper County Administration building. Speakers will include Andy Beall, director of the Santa Elena Foundation; Ingrid Owens, director of history, art and culture at Penn Center; historian and author William Whitten; Annmarie Reiley-Kay, Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage; and Rita Livingston, College of Charleston professor.
