Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra’s holiday concerts returns this year with three shows

The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra is ringing in the holiday season the weekend after Thanksgiving with three Holiday Pops concerts.

Music Director John Morris Russell will be joined by American Traditions Vocal Competition winner Ashleigh Smith; the 2021 HHSO Youth Concerto Competition winner cellist Brandon Leonard; and members of the HHSO Chorus.

The program features holiday classics, including the traditional sing-a-long.

“First Presbyterian Church gave the HHSO and the entire community an early holiday gift,” HHSO President and CEO Alan Jordan said of the church lifting its COVID capacity restrictions, which allowed the concert to resume ticket sales. “We now have plenty of great seats available for both concerts on Hilton Head Island, and tickets are also available for the Bluffton concert.”

All HHSO performers are vaccinated as well as staff and volunteers at the event. Audience members must show proof of vaccination before attending and masks are recommended. Those whose young age makes them unable to receive the vaccine must wear face coverings.

When and where are the shows?

Saturday, Nov. 27 - 7 p.m. at the Parish Life Center at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton. Tickets are $25 for the public and $20 for members of the church. This performance is “slightly abbreviated to be family friendly.”

Sunday, Nov. 28 and Monday, Nov. 29 - 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head Island. Reserved tickets are $60, $50, and $25. These performances include the full program.

Tickets can be purchased at hhso.org or by calling the HHSO office at 843-842-2055.
