Another fall festival on Hilton Head is being postponed. Here’s the new date

The Crescendo Celebration of Art & Culture has postponed its in-person festival until May 2021, according to a Wednesday afternoon news release from the Town of Hilton Head Island.

Originally scheduled for October and November, the festival typically showcases artists’ work, historical organizations, performers and authors on the island. It will now be held May 8-23, 2021, and include outdoor concerts, theatre, dance performances, historical tours, and visual art exhibits.

But you can still get your arts and culture fix from home.

In place of a full Crescendo Celebration in October this year, Culture HHI will host a series of virtual and in-person events that follow social distancing and recommended safety guidelines.

Last year’s Crescendo Celebration featured more than 100 programs that the town estimates attracted more than 10,000 people to the island.

The programming included concerts, theatrical productions, museum and gallery exhibits, lectures, poetry readings, dance performances, historical tours, hands-on arts experiences, and educational offerings.

Crescendo joins the Concours d’Elegance in canceling its in-person activities for 2020. The motoring festival was scheduled to begin Oct. 23 and announced it would cancel the event in late May. The 2021 event is scheduled for Oct. 29.
