LGBTQ+ PRIDE parade coming to Bluffton for second year. Here’s what it’ll look like

Bluffton’s streets will be overflowing with rainbows Sunday as the town welcomes the Lowcountry PRIDE’s parade for a second year.

Last June, the inaugural parade drew more than 400 participants from Beaufort and Jasper counties, Charleston, and Savannah, among other locations.

This year, though, will look a little different due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead of a walking march, the event will be a “PRIDE Ride Rally.” Participants will drive their vehicles in a caravan along the designated route. People are still encouraged to dress up and decorate their vehicles with the “brightest PRIDE colors.”

Event organizers are asking that people not leave their vehicles and turn their flashers on if they’re in the caravan, which will have a police escort.

Line-up for the PRIDE Ride is at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bluffton’s Eagles Field on Buck Island Road.

The procession will begin at 5 p.m. The route includes portions of Bluffton Parkway, Bluffton Road, May River Road, and Buck Island Road.
