Free kids fishing rodeo set for Saturday

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is hosting a free kids fishing rodeo from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The event will take place at the Burton Wells Park pond, 64 Burton Wells Road in Beaufort.

Bring your own fishing equipment and bait. The first 50 kids will receive a free rod and reel, and there will be a drawing for prizes at the end. Participants must be accompanied by an adult.
