Get ready to take a Christmas Eve run at Hilton Head Hospital

The 25th annual Hilton Head Hospital Jingle Jingle 5K Run and Health Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.

The Christmas Eve event will follow a course on and around the hospital campus and Main Street.

The first 500 people to sign up receive a long sleeve event t-shirt, jingle bells and a candy cane. An award ceremony - featuring a visit from Santa, refreshments, hot cider, music, and door prizes - will be held following the race. Prizes will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. The top three in each age category will also receive awards.

A free children’s Fun Run will be held following the 5K. The fun run is for kids 6 and under. The race is broken into two heats: age 3 and under may participate in a 25 yard run, and those 4 to 6 years old may participate in a 100 yard run.

The 5K is sponsored by Whole Foods Market, Palmetto Electric, Custom Audio Video, The Bike Doctor, The Surf 104.9 and Stokes Brown Toyota.

A percentage of proceeds will benefit a local charity.
