Here’s one way to help keep the shelves of local food pantries full next year

The Second Helpings’ 25th anniversary party and Share the Bounty fundraiser will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Windows on the Waterway on Skull Creek Drive in Hilton Head Plantation.

Money raised from the event will support the Second Helpings’ fleet of trucks as well as the Healthy Food Initiative. This initiative ensures that food pantries in the area will have a year round supply of fresh fruits and vegetables to provide their clients.

Guenther Hecht, the founder of the organization, will be honored at the event and also present the inaugural G. Hecht Founders Award.

The cost per ticket is $100 and includes dinner, full bar, music by FM, a silent auction and door prizes.
