Mom picks just the right gifts for autistic son
Blanche came to Bluffton Self Help's toy shop last year to look for presents for her 25-year-old autistic son.
While shopping, she spotted a golf-ball cleaner, which she knew her son, who likes to clean things, would love to find in his stocking. She also selected a sensory toy that made sounds and flashed lights.
Bluffton Self Help's toy store allows clients to shop rather than have volunteers select toys based on the ages of the children. The store allows dignity and choice for those less fortunate.
Bluffton Self Help provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, sick and elderly.
