Bluffton holiday festivities start tonight; streets closed for parade Saturday

The town of Bluffton's holiday festivities start tonight with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. at the Town Hall, 20 Bridge St.

The event will feature the Michael C. Riley Elementary School Chorus and a visit from Santa.

The town's annual Christmas parade is at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The parade will begin at Pritchard and Bridge streets and will end at Red Cedar Elementary School, 10 Box Elder St.

The parade usually lasts between 2 and half to 3 hours, according the Town of Bluffton's website.

Street closures for the parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

May River Road will be closed from Buck Island to Bluffton Road. In addition, many downtown streets will be closed.
