Community contributions: Bluffton Self Help
Many folks cannot afford health insurance, especially dental insurance.
On a few occasions, clients have been referred to Bluffton Self Help after visiting Beaufort Jasper Comprehensive Health Care for dental issues.
After an appointment, the patients have a consultation with patient financial services. If it is determined that the patient cannot afford the dental treatment based on their income, BJCHC will refer them to Bluffton Self Help to apply for financial assistance.
After reviewing their household income and weighing it against the dental treatment plan estimate, Bluffton Self Help determines if it can assist the client.
Because of partnerships like this one and support from the community, many neighbors in need are able to receive care.
Bluffton Self Help provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
