Community contributions: Bluffton Self Help
For one Bluffton resident, Tropical Storm Hermine made quite an impact.
The winds were strong enough to uproot a tree on Debbie’s property. She brought in photographs of the enormous tree looming over her home. With one strong gust of wind, the tree could fall directly on her home.
She was unable to pay for the tree to be removed and her mortgage at the same time.
After verifying her income and reviewing the estimate for tree removal, Bluffton Self Help was able to pay one mortgage payment so that she could pay for the tree’s removal.
Bluffton Self Help provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
