Dance performance to Hollywood theme, choreography of Karina Smirnoff

A local dance studio will take on themes from Hollywood at an upcoming performance showcasing the choreography of Karina Smirnoff.

Fred Astaire Studio of Hilton Head and Bluffton will present “Fred Astaire Goes to Hollywood” at 7 p.m. Saturday May 21, at Hilton Head High School’s Seahawk Cultural Center, 70 Wilborn Road, Hilton Head.

The program will feature a Hollywood theme with music from such films as “Footloose,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” James Bond and more.

In addition, several of the program’s dance numbers were choreographed by five-time U.S. National Ballroom champion Karina Smirnoff. Smirnoff was in Bluffton in January.

Tickets, available at the door, are $20 with discounts for students.
