Apollo program memoirist to sign books on Hilton Head

Writer Martha Lemasters will sign copies of her memoir and debut book “The Step: One Woman’s Journey to Finding her Own Happiness and Success During the Apollo Space Program” this week.

Lemasters’ memoir deals with her first-hand account of her years working for IBM at the Kennedy Space Center as a public relations writer on the Apollo program during the ’60s and ’70s.

It’s the first book written about the Apollo program from a woman’s perspective — and from the perspective of one of the contractors.

The signing is at 2 p.m. May 13, at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 20 Hatton Plaza, Indigo Run, Hilton Head.
