Lucas: Prince-themed “Purple Party” coming to Hilton Head

Prince fans get ready.

Savannah-based DJ and impresario Ben Umbreit is bringing his “Purple Party” to Hilton Head Island.

Umbreit, who considers himself among the world’s most fervent Prince fans, throws the parties throughout the Southeast.

The event will feature DJs spinning Prince music including lost tracks, music from Prince’s many protégés, purple drink specials, a photo booth Prince art and surprises.

In addition, Hilton Head’s own Darryl Van Horne will give a special performance from as “Tha Sole Mate.”

Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be give to the most enthusiastic of fans.

The party kicks off at 9:30 p.m. April 8, at Crave by Daniels 2 N. Forest Beach Drive, Hilton Head.
