Lucas: Community concert band to give free concerts on Hilton Head, Bluffton

The Lowcountry Community Concert Band will give two free concerts this spring.

Sponsored by the University of South Carolina’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, the band will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday April 3, at Hilton Head Presbyterian Church, 235 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island.

In addition, the group will perform the same program at 3 p.m. April 9, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, at 351 Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton.

The concerts will feature such songs as the “First Suite in E-flat for Military Band” by Gustav Holst and the theme from Schindler’s List by John Williams.

Donations will be accepted.

The band accepts members of any age who play an instrument at the high school level or higher. For details visit www.ollilccb.com.
