‘Idol’s’ Lee Jean to make appearances around Hilton Head, Bluffton

Missed your chance to see Lee Jean on American Idol?

Now you can see the Bluffton native in person at several performances coming up around Hilton Head Island and Bluffton.

While Jean, 16, was eliminated from the competition last week after a six-week run that propelled him into the show’s Top 8, Jean has been asked to return for the show’s live two-hour finale April 7 by Fox producers.

The show covers the cost of Jean’s travel expenses but does not cover family members who have been taking turns flying to the West Coast to be with Jean, who is now home for a two-week break. All minors are required to have a parent or guardian accompany them while on the show.

First up, Jean will perform from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, at Southern Barrel Brewing Company, 375 Buckwalter Plaza Blvd., Bluffton.

The appearance will have a $5 cover charge for ages 21 and younger. In addition, Jean will be on hand to sign autographs and merchandise will be available for purchase.

Then, Jean will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Coligny Plaza, along with the rock band Native.

Admission is free but donations will be accepted.

Finally, Jean will perform March 24, at The Roasting Room Lounge and Listening Room, over top Corner Perk at the corner of Calhoun and Promenade streets, in Bluffton. Jean will perform with “other area talent,” according to the venue’s website.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is at 8 p.m.

Admission to the show is $10.

All funds raised at the appearances will help offset the family’s travel expenses.
