Lucas: Hilton Head High will ‘bring it on’ with high-energy musical

Love high-energy productions?

Then get ready because Hilton Head Island High School’s latest “Bring it On: The Musical” — coming up next week — will feature lots of sass and high-powered performances.

Inspired by the film “Bring it On,” the musical comedy earned several Tony Award nominations when it was on Broadway.

Now the high school will bring the high-flying production centered around the world of competitive cheerleading to the Seahawk Theatre.

The production will feature two principal casts, made up of a large cross-section of the school’s student body, making it one of the largest ensembles for the school in years.

The musical will kick off Wednesday and will run through March 13. Show times are 7 p.m. each evening with a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
