Lucas: Beaufort painter Thibault Gallery’s featured artist of the month

Beaufort-based artist Bill Mead is the Thibault Gallery’s featured artist of the month.

Mead’s work, which has been in galleries across the Southeast and the United States, will be on display at the gallery throughout the month of March.

Mead also will be on hand to discuss his work, inspired by Hieronymus Bosch and Rene Magritte, during Beaufort’s ‘First Friday after Five’ event from 5-8 p.m. tonight at the gallery, at 815 Bay Street, Beaufort.

During First Friday after Five, many galleries and downtown businesses stay open late and offer light refreshments.
