Lucas: Traveling pirate exhibit coming to Ridgeland
A traveling exhibit featuring the history and lore of pirates will open at the Morris Center in Ridgeland in March.
“Pirates, Privateers and Buccaneers of the Carolinas” is currently touring the state as part of the South Carolina State Museum’s 2015-16 Traveling Exhibitions Program.
To preview the exhibit, the Morris Center will hold “Pirates, Plunder & Lager” from 5 to 7 p.m. March 3.
The family-friendly event event will feature local brew from River Dog Brewery and light refreshments. Children can interact with pirates, learn about buccaneers of the Lowcountry and win some treasure.
Tickets are $6, with discounts for seniors and free for kids.

The center is at 10782 Jacob Smart Blvd., Ridgeland.
