Lucas: Works by local artists to begin popping up on billboards around Beaufort County

Beaufort County drivers may soon be seeing public art popping up on billboards around the area.

After the Beaufort Arts Council teamed up with Adams Outdoor Advertising last fall for an “ArtPop” competition, the winners of the competition will now be revealed in large-scale format.

Through a juried process, ten images were selected and will be displayed on five billboards — with five showing at a time — throughout the area this year.
