Lucas: Thibault Gallery to feature work of Beaufort photographer

Beaufort's First Friday After Five kicks off at 5 p.m. tonight.

Participating galleries and businesses in the downtown area will stay open for extended hours -- generally until 8 p.m.

As part of the festivities, Beaufort artist John Wollwerth will be at the Thibault Gallery on Bay Street to talk about his work along with the "Sometimes Later Band."

Wollwerth, who works in digital and infrared photography, has won numerous awards including a recent honorable mention in The Photographic Society of America's photojournalism contest.

The event will feature wine, hors d'oeuvres and of course, lots of art.
