Main Street Youth Theatre to present ‘All Shook Up’

Main Street Youth Theatre will present “All Shook Up” from June 22 to July 3 at Hilton Head Island Preparatory School’s theater, 3000 Main St., Hilton Head Island.

Based on the book by Joe DiPietro, “All Shook Up” mixes the hits of Elvis Presley with a little of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” in a musical comedy fraught with mistaken identities and star-crossed lovers. Set in Smalltown, USA, the action begins when a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger named Chad (Henry Clark) rambles into town on his motorbike. This “rolling roustabout with a song in his soul and an eye for the ladies” stirs up the town, especially young Natalie (Cassie Maurer), a mechanic dreaming of adventure. In 24 hours, the town is turned upside down as characters young and old discover the magic of romance and the power of rock and roll.

Tickets are $25 for adults; $20 for seniors; and $15 for students.
