Beaufort History Museum looking for volunteer docents

The Beaufort History Museum is looking for volunteer docents to join its spring 2016 class.

Docents lead tours and serve as community liaisons for the museum, according to a news release.

A five-week training session will cover Beaufort history, the museum’s collections, history and mission.

Docents who have completed the training are asked to serve up to four shifts a month and commit to a one-year period of service to the museum.

An information session will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday with the first training session to follow at the museum, 713 Craven St., Beaufort.

Space is limited. Those interested in the training are encouraged to register early.
