Beaufort artists will open private studios to the public for one day. Here are the details
Nine local artists will open their private studios to the public in the first Home Studio Art Tour and Sale in the Freedman Arts District from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday in Beaufort.
The free self-guided tour, which can be easily be completed on foot, will encompass private studios on Boundary, Church, Duke and Greene streets, which are part of the Beaufort’s Historic District and the newly defined Freedman Arts District.
The Freedman Arts District, which was formed in November, markets and promotes arts, artists, venues and arts education within the Arts District and nearby areas. The district, a not-for-profit, also is assisting property owners in restoring and retaining ownership of older houses.
During the tour, visitors can view and purchase original work directly from the artists. They also will get the chance to watch some of the artists at work. The sites and artists are:

The district recommends beginning the tour at 1105 Green St.
