Got a knack for art? You could win some money in this Bluffton art show

The Society of Bluffton Artists will hold their 24th Annual Judged Show from Tuesday, March 6 to Sunday, April 1, and if you’ve got an artistic knack, you can be a part of it.

The show doubles as a competition. There are multiple categories to enter, and each category will have cash awards for first, second and third place. Artists do not need to be members of SoBA to participate, according to a statement on their website.

The show is open to artists aged 18 or older, according to the site, and the entry fee is $25 for members and $35 for non-members, says the website. Each artist is invited to submit a single piece of their own original work from within the last 12 months. Submitted work should not have been exhibited in that time.

In order for a category to be eligible for awards, there needs to be at least seven entries in that category, the site says. Categories include mixed media, acrylic, oil, watercolor, 3D and photography.

For art lovers unable to participate, the art entered will be for sale. There will also be an opening reception and awards presentation held on Wednesday, March 7 at the SoBA Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m., the site says.

Only the first 100 entries in the show will be accepted, according to the website.

Linda St. Clair, who is judging the show, will also be offering a three day artists workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 6 through 8. You can register for that workshop at sobagallery.com/product/three-day-workshop-linda-st-clair.
