Hilton Head’s Art League Gallery to feature work of Gayle Miller

The Art League Gallery will present “Women Together, Feminine Expressions in Watercolor” by artist Gayle Miller from Aug. 1-26.

The gallery will feature a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 9. The event is free and open to the public.

After graduating from the University of Maryland, Miller’s relocation for her career ultimately lead her to Apparel Arts of San Francisco where she delved into clothing design and patterning. While at AASF, Miller discovered her love of watercolor painting.

Fifteen years later, Miller has found success in the Lowcountry. She is the president of the Society of Bluffton Artists, vice president of All About Art, exhibits at Alexander’s Restaurant, Twenty/20 Coffee Shop, and was the cover artist of Lady Lowcountry for 10 months.

Miller’s exhibit “Women Together” features “stunning, eclectic, fashionable women that are fun to paint and very expressive,” Gayle said. “Some of my personal attitude shows in their style.” Her whimsical watercolors portray a variety of feminine expressions.

The Art League of Hilton Head Gallery is inside Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, 14 Shelter Cove Lane on Hilton Head Island. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 90 minutes before all Arts Center performances.
