May River Theatre wants your help solving a murder in ‘Curtains’
“Curtains,” a Broadway musical presented by May River Theatre Co., will hit the stage this November in Bluffton.
The murder-mystery is about a detective called in to investigate the killing of a Broadway star who dies during the curtain call of her troubled new show on opening night. “Curtains” was one of the final collaborations between composer John Kander and lyricist, Fred Ebb, also known for writing the scores to “Cabaret” and “Chicago.”
Bryce Cofield directs a cast of 15 local actors. He is joined by the show’s choreographer Jodi Layman and musical director Warren Heilman.
The cast includes Daniel Derrer (Lieutenant Frank Coiffi), Jennifer Green (Carmen Bernstein), Randolph Stewart (Sidney Bernstein), Daniel Cort (Aaron Fox), Debbie Cort (Georgia Hendricks), Emily Rice (Bambi Bernet) and Jean White (Niki Harris). Supporting roles include: DA Southern, Stephan Brannon, James Siler, Jim Sauter, Robert Fitzsimmons and Mary Lynn Finn. Ensemble is played by Lindsey Brannan, Elliott Lentz, Jeff Cory, Emily Kustak, Katherine Lucena, Matthew Davey and Alyssa Ratajczyk.
The show will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in November at the Ulmer Theater in Bluffton Town Hall, 20 Bridge St., in Bluffton. Tickets are $25 each.
